Live Blog: McCain’s speech

This’ll be my fist live blog, so I don’t know how well it’s going to go over (and the fact that it’ll go late and I will be up at five in the morning), but we’ll give it a shot and see how it turns out. I think I’ll do a test run during the O’Reilly factor interview with Obama, if that doesn’t go over we’ll I’ll probably cut it off.

Wish me luck.

Hey Matt, good to see you blogging again. I’ve been too distracted of late, but must get back to it, too. American politics baffles me, however. Hearing Ms Palin’s speech chilled me to the bone…

Grandparents response… There is always hope, and we will be in a better position now than before. Dinner with the President…make note to self…get a tux!

@Blake- yeah I had seen this while surfing blog tools a while ago, wanted to give it a shot. It doesn’t appear at all in my e-mail update though, which I guess isn’t the worst thing in the world. I’ll probably use it again.

@Andrew- Palin’s speech was exactly what they wanted it to be, we’ll see if it works out as well as they had hoped in the end. I saw that you had been watching Fox news when you were down here, that’s enough to confuse anyone about American Politics (As if it weren’t confusing enough). My wife hates it, but I actually like watching Fox news, it’s fun to hear the spin when I can identify it.

@ Grandparents- I will say, in all honesty, I don’t think McCain could be as bad as Bush, he did set the bar quite high.

We agree-McCain will not be as bad as bush-but why not have a BETTER President? Why not have a President to be proud of? Why not have a President who will restore the reputation of the United States around the world? Why not have a President who cares about America’s middle class workers? How about a President who cares about the least and lost among us? And by the way bush set the bar about as low as it could go.

“The spin when I can identify it”? Spotting the un-spun story on Fox news is the harder task :-). Or perhaps there isn’t one. :-)
